About Fospen

A small informal action group of concerned pensioners had been in existence for some time before it was decided in November 2002 to form a formal association.  On 25 Sept 2003, Fospen was formed, and officers and committee were elected.

The association has two objectives. The first is to seek and attain a sustainable and fully-funded Defined Benefits Pension Fund at the earliest opportunity. The second objective is to seek and attain a restoration of pension increases for those pensioners with pre-1997 earned years of service.

Fospen regularly monitors and comments on the security of the Fund and on any changes that would affect members’ benefits. It communicates with the Trustees and the Company on matters of concern, which may affect the Plan.

Fospen communicates with its members with an Annual General Meeting and a General Meeting each year. It also issues regular newsletters and provides access to an online archive for its members.

Fospen encourages all retired and deferred members, and dependants of deceased members of the Plan to join Fospen.

This is formally recorded in our Constitution.
